TDS Dance is a Manchester based Dance Group
formed in 2007 by Mercedes Jo.
We run weekly Dance & Fitness Classes for Kids
from the age of 4 up to Adults.
To create Touch Di Sky ProducTionZ (it's original name) was a dream Mercedes had in early 2004. She wanted to create a Dance/Drama based company that envisaged performance works and brought them to life.
After toying with many initial ideas, including re-creating for stage the film "Save The Last Dance", she decided the best way to go was to Choreograph and create her own Commercial Dance Show, involving dancers she'd previously worked with, as well as complete non-dancers in the form of family and friends. She created "Dance 4 Life", a Dance Show designed to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and to set a platform for what was to come.
Dance 4 Life was a huge success. The theatre sold out, and we raised huge amounts for the Charity involved. Mercedes enjoyed every aspect of being the Choreographer, Teacher and Director and decided Community Dance Performance was the way she wanted to go. After several more successful shows, and raising almost £2000 for Charity, TDS Dance was born.
Our home is in Gorton, where we rehearse for our performances and Shows. So far, we have raised thousands of pounds for many different Charities, including Cancer Research UK, Children With Leukamia, and Help The Heroes.
Mercedes is passionate about raising money for Charity and giving children the opportunity to do things she couldnt. By providing a safe environment for children of mixed ages and abilities to learn Dance, Mercedes believes this can only benefit the young community by encouraging fitness and respect through Dance.
